Georgetown, Texas is a beautiful community called home by approximately 50,000 residents. Home to Southwestern University, the first institution of higher learning in Texas, and to Sun City, Texas, a well-known retirement community for active adults, Georgetown has something for every age group.
Georgetown Parks: If you like to stay active, you'll love Georgetown! Our city parks system has won awards, and for good reason. The hike and bike trails are world-class, winding their way along the San Gabriel River to picturesque Lake Georgetown. The Georgetown Recreation Center recently experienced an incredible renovation and addition, and now rivals the best health facilities out there. With five outdoor and one indoor swimming pool, you can swim laps year-round. The Georgetown Parks Department offers athletic programs in soccer, softball, kickball, tennis, an adventure program, and even several disc golf courses for frisbee-philes. Come have fun in Georgetown!
Georgetown Square: Visitors and residents alike love the downtown square. Our historic Williamson County courthouse saw a complete restoration, and it is a true copper-domed gem. The courthouse is faced by Victorian buildings painted in bright, appealing colors. Visit the shops on the square for unique gifts or antiques, and stop in to a fantastic coffeeshop or restaurant. The Georgetown square is a fun place to be.
Georgetown Neighborhoods and Subdivisions: Let's face it, if you're on this site, you want to know about the Georgetown, Texas real estate market. Georgetown has a lot of wonderful homes for sale, in prices that range from the low $100,000's to more than $2 million. Below are a few of my personal favorite neighborhoods and subdivisions in Georgetown, Texas.
|
Georgetown Village: I have a major soft spot in my heart for Georgetown Village. I must - I live there with my husband and our four kids. Living in Georgetown Village feels like living in Mayberry, with wide, winding streets, and traditional style homes with front porches that encourage neighbors to get to know each other. (And we do!) The Village Elementary School is right inside the community and is rated Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency.
|
Parkview Estates: With gently sloping hills and the large trees of an established neighborhood, Parkview Estates feels homey and welcoming. Parkview Estates is in a great location, across the street from San Gabriel Park and less than a mile from I-35 and TX 130 for easy access to Austin.
|
Sun City Texas: Sun City is such a large active adult retirement community that it's practically a city within itself. The neighborhood has been developed with the lifestyle of active adults in mind. Homes are single story, with two or three bedrooms, and yards are easy to care for so that residents are free to take part in all the fun and wonderful activities that Sun City has to offer. Whether you're interested in golf, woodworking, oil painting, or anything else, you're likely to find a self-directed group of like-minded neighbors. |
Woodland Park: Woodland Park, west of Georgetown on Williams Drive, is one of several Jimmy Jacobs communities throughout the area. Jimmy Jacobs is known for homes with high-end features and eminently livable floor plans. The homes in Woodland Park are built of native stone or stucco with beautiful brick accents. With lot sizes of one acre or more, residents come to Woodland Park when they want a little elbow room. |
Riverview and River Ridge: Riverview Estates and River Ridge are side by side off of Leander Road and open to each other so you can drive from one to the other and not realize you've moved into a different neighborhood. With brick homes and gorgeous, big trees, Riverview and River Ridge are stately neighborhoods with a feeling of style and permanence. Homeowners at the back of the subdivision enjoy incredible Hill Country views. |
Gabriel's Overlook: Driving through Gabriel's Overlook feels like taking a drive in the country. Peaceful roads wind their way through the gated subdivision, past spacious homes built of native stone. Homeowners enjoy the privacy afforded by one- to two-acre lots. |
